By the time a return hits a preparer's desk the year is closed and every decision that could have lowered the bill is behind you. Twenty-six years of returns taught me the money is made in October, not April.
So we look at where the year is landing while you can still act: equipment timed properly, the S corp election run through the numbers first, estimates set so nothing lands as a surprise.
Also offered: Bookkeeping · Fractional CFO · Tax Preparation
Preparation reports what already happened; by then the outcome is fixed. Planning happens during the year, while decisions about equipment, entity structure, retirement contributions and owner pay can still change what you owe. Most business owners only buy the first and wonder why the bill never moves.
It is completely normal in this area and it is handled through reciprocity and credit rules between the states. It does need to be set up correctly, because the common mistakes — withholding in the wrong state, missing a local return — cost real money.
Any time, but the highest-value window is the last quarter of the year, when we can still act on what the numbers show. If you are already into filing season, we prepare the return properly and then set up planning so next year is different.
